Photography is a story; we fail to put into words. This is what a video that Tina Ambani posted on World Social Media Day says as its frame freezes to an end. For someone, whose life has been fraught with stories, be it in professional life or personal life, nothing rings more true. Tina’s whole life has been about sharing. Right from her efforts to encourage budding artists who seem to be standing in an endless wait for their crafts to be recognized, to her care-giving for elders and now her efforts in healthcare. It seems she couldn’t get enough of reaching out to others. Just empathizing doesn’t cut it for her. She believes in doing.

Her social media reflects the very same sentiment. Right when she started off, in place of just plugging in a throwback image from the past, she chose to post a picture of her niece Isheta instead lauding her work for supporting the cause of tigers. A close look and you will find her expressing gratitude, or invoking her followers to take care of themselves in every other post of hers or recounting the good in someone that she remembers from a distant memory.

Wishing people on their birthdays and anniversaries are done by her in a very creative manner. While most people would choose to wish their loved ones by wishing them to have a wonderful day, she takes the path of making that loved one’s day by unfolding it to him or her the best thing that she finds in the person. Take Amol Palekar’s birthday for instance. She posted a picture of him with her; she completed it with a beautiful caption that read, “Happy birthday to a fantastic colleague, and a gentle, soft-spoken, immensely talented actor, painter and playwright. More power to your creativity Amol — wishing you a happy, blessed, healthy year.”

For a person who’s constantly juggling her schedules as she has a Herculean task of managing a colossal hospital, to post pictures with such personal touches is admirable. Treating her followers to pictures from her very private life, like her sons and husband grooming themselves at home, echoes of simplicity in life that she and her family practices. Flamboyance doesn’t seem to be her way of life. Today it is more about the things that matter the most in life — family, occasions to rejoice, opportunities to cheer on and encouraging women and treating predicaments simply as mere experiences. For instance, on Women’s Day she gave a shout-out to all her women colleagues at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and rightly told them that it’s not about competing with men but about elevating themselves and becoming their own benchmarks by realizing the Shakti within them.

It is only from a person with such refined wisdom you can hear such empowering words that ring so true. From sharing pictures of her pets, to wishing her co-stars from yesteryears her approach stays every bit as grounded as she seems to be doing in real life. The pictures are timeless just the way her aura is.
